Email marketing

The cheapest channel you own outright, and the one most often left to rot between campaigns. Everything else on the plan is rented attention. This is the only list that is actually yours.

You own it, which changes everything

Every other line on a media plan is rented. Rates rise, algorithms change, a platform alters its rules and the reach you paid to build is gone. An email list is an asset on your side of the ledger, and it is the reason email consistently returns more per dollar than anything else we buy — not because email is clever, but because the audience is already yours.

Which is why the most valuable thing most businesses could do with email is simply send more often, to a list they already have and have not touched in a year.

Deliverability is the whole game

An email that lands in Promotions or Spam did not fail on copy. It failed on reputation, and no amount of subject-line testing fixes that. What actually determines whether it arrives:

  • Authentication. SPF, DKIM and DMARC correctly published on the sending domain. A missing DKIM record alone will hold mail out of the primary inbox no matter how good the content is.
  • Sending reputation. Built slowly and lost quickly. A dormant list mailed all at once after two years generates enough bounces and complaints to damage a domain for months.
  • List hygiene. Removing people who never open protects the deliverability of the ones who do. A smaller engaged list outperforms a large stale one, and costs less to send to.
  • Honest permission. A purchased list will burn the domain you also send invoices from. We do not buy lists and we will not send to one.

We test this empirically rather than assuming it — sending through the actual path, to real inboxes, and checking where it landed before a campaign goes out at volume.

What we use it for

Sequenced follow-up on leads the rest of the plan generated, seasonal offers to past customers, reactivation of a list that has gone quiet, and the unglamorous transactional mail — appointment reminders, quote follow-ups — that quietly recovers more revenue than most campaigns.

It works best as the collection layer behind broadcast and Connected TV: those create the demand, email keeps working on the people who did not buy the first time.
