Social media

Social media advertising

Paid social planned as media rather than as posting, with the creative built for the placement instead of cut down to fit it. The targeting is genuinely good. The creative is where almost every social budget is actually lost.

Paid social is not organic social

They get sold together and they are different jobs. Organic posting maintains a presence for people who already follow you. Paid social buys attention from people who do not know you exist. Confusing the two is why so many businesses have a busy page and no leads from it.

We plan the paid side as a media line: a defined audience, a budget, a frequency, a creative rotation and a measurement plan. The same discipline we would apply to a television schedule.

Where social budgets actually go wrong

Rarely in the targeting. Almost always in one of these:

  • A television spot recut to fifteen seconds. Different medium, different viewing distance, sound usually off, and the first second decides everything. Repurposed broadcast creative reliably underperforms creative made for the feed.
  • One creative running for months. Social audiences exhaust faster than any other channel. Performance decay is usually creative fatigue, not an audience or bidding problem, and raising the budget makes it worse.
  • Optimising to the cheapest action available. A campaign told to buy clicks will buy clicks from people who never convert. It should be optimised toward the thing that makes you money, even when the reported cost per action looks worse.
  • No suppression. Paying to acquire people who are already customers, because nobody uploaded the customer list as an exclusion.

What we run

Meta and Instagram for reach and precision at low cost, YouTube where a longer message is genuinely needed, and TikTok where the category and the audience actually support it — which is fewer categories than the platform's own case studies suggest. We will tell you when a platform is not worth your budget.

Creative is produced here rather than briefed out, which is the point of having creative and buying under one roof: the person making the asset knows the placement it has to work in.
